One world, one heart giveaway

Karen South and ingedk have won a needlefelt card here and libbyquilter one on my Flickr comments. Please send me an email with your snailmail address.

One World, One Heart. Lisa Swifka is the author of this blog and she is having a worldwide contest! This is an excerpt from Lisa:The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way...This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits."

I will give away three needle-felt postcards to three of you who leave a comment on this post before sunday 8 february. On 8 february I will draw 3 names and send them away. Please check this post again on the 10th, Maybe I need your address or email address.

art quiltie

In the group "Unlimited Textiles" we have a January challenge which is called 'unfinished symphony'.
The meaning is to send an unfinished piece of your work to a partner who has to make something out of it.
Below the piece which have been sent to me by Louise (GB), less than 5 inch square.
First I didn't know what to do with it, had no ideas what to add. So, I decided to cut it up and arrange it again on a piece of blue hand dyed fabric.
I made a yoyo of gold fabric and added some fringe for a better balance.
Above what I have made of it. The quiltie is 5 inch, 12,5 cm square plus the fringe.

DYB-RR block

I have this block embellished for Hideko, we are in the CQAW group together.
Hideko's theme is "Autumn Roses". The block is 15cm. 6" square.
I have painted the lace first in Autumn colors to fit with the other blocks which are already done by other participants. Also the turquoise blue color is in the other blocks, so I have added a bit of that too, to keep all 6 blocks in one color range.
I hope Hideko likes it.

This is Ritva's ( Finland) block, she made a block for her 60st birthday and asked a few internet CQ-friends to embellish it. Above how the block came in my house and below how it will leave my house tomorrow. There are two other friends who have to do their work on this block. The size is 22 cm. square, a bit more than 8".

A touch of Japan 3/3

This is the last block. It will be the top one. You see them now here as I sew them together in a vertical row. I have to find suitable fabric for an inner and an outer border first.
All the three blocks are 12", 30 cm square.
When it is finished I will show the wall-hanging here.
It can take a while, there are a few other things waiting on my table........

A touch of Japan 2/3

The second "Japan" block. The lace and most of the fabrics from Hideko ( Japan).
The tatted items made and given to me by Helinä ( Finland).

A touch of Japan. 1/3

The first of three blocks with a "Japan" theme. I've got the fabrics from my internet friend Hideko from Japan.
The picture in the middle is a gift from an internet friend in the USA: Ingrid.
It was difficult to get a good photo because of the silk fabrics. The lower left corner is dark purple and the black large button has a very nice shape in the middle.
But I think you get an impression :-)
The block is 30cm, 12 inch square.
As always you can click on the photo to enlarge.
