Jam

Yesterday evening I washed and soaked dried apricots.
This morning I picked the gooseberries from the bushes.
Now I have made jam from this combination. Six jars with jammy, jammy, to use on a slice of breakfast bread the coming winter :)
Last week I also made six jars jam from a combination of black and red currants.
In spite of the very cold and wet summer we have this year I was able to pick some fruit from the garden.
The plums will not make it this year, they are still very green!

Klem Ruth.

Oh, how I would love to taste your jam. I made some more jam last weekend too. It was a combination of peaches, raspberries and blackberries. There were seven jars, but gave two of them for friends. Only five left for us! But I am hoping to get more peaches and berries at the Farmers Market this weekend. I’ve never seen gooseberries before. Looks yummy! Hugs, Cathy

Your jam does look jammy, jammy!
We have loads of plums this year, two trees done, two more just getting ripe, lots to do!

I do like the look of your apricot and gooseberries jam. Would you like to share a recipe? The gooseberries have been and gone here, but I would like to make a note for next year!

Do you know, I have never thought to use dried apricots in jam making and I love dried apricots. I also had a fantastic crop of gooseberries this year - and black currants but not of red currants - we have had a drought all summer.

I think I will copy you and make apricot and gooseberry jam for a change this year.

Thanks for the inspiration.
